The Dubai-based mall is undergoing a massive Dhs1 billion redevelopment programme.

Investment of over Dhs1 billion to expand Mall of the Emirates by 5,000 sm and 30 additional stores during phase 1. Phase 2 will include a 25,000 sm expansion above the existing Carrefour and is expected to be completed by the end of 2015. Phase 2 will include a large VOX cinema, additional F&B, and a lifestyle centre. The expansion hopes to increase footfall by around 10% annually.

The SM group of tycoon Henry Sy seeks to boost its revenue stream by further expanding its mature shopping malls, budgeting some P10 billion for the opening of more leasable space in the sprawling Mall of Asia (MOA) and other malls.

SM will invest P10 billion over the next two to three years to add 200,000 sm to the Mall of Asia by 2016 as well as 30,000 to 50,000 sm in additional GLA to SM's smaller malls like those in Bacolod, Lipa and Iloilo.

Summary:- Green line will also be extended by 20.6km, and gain 11 more stations to cover International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Academic City. - 2nd phase of Dubai Tram announced. Phase 1 will be finished this November 2014 and link Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence, and the Palm Jumeirah. Phase two will link sites such as Mall of the Emirates and the Burj Al Arab. - The Etihad Rail project was on schedule. The 1,200km rail line is set for completion in 2018.

Aventura Mall hopes to build upon its current annual sales of US$1.4 billion (2012) and 28 million visitors per annum by expanding in size by 241,000 sf. It is currently the U.S.' 2nd most visited mall after Mall of America.
